Ingredients
- 2 lbs fresh strawberries, cleaned, hulled, and sliced (remove any white interior)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
Instructions
Clean, hull, and slice 2 pounds of strawberries. If the interior of the strawberries is white versus pink, make sure to remove them. You want to have naturally sweet fruit when making jam to ensure less sugar is added.
Add the sliced strawberries to a large heavy bottom pot, add the sugar, and heat over medium. Continuously stir the strawberry sugar mixture until it begins to boil, roughly 5 minutes.
Once it begins to boil, add the tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Continue to stir for 15 minutes as the jam continues to boil.
Remove the jam from the heat, pour it into a mason jar, and allow it to completely cool. Once cooled, top it with the lid and place it in the fridge. The jam last last up to two weeks in the fridge.
